The drone manufacturer senseFly currently confirms that their eBee agricultural drones will also be equipped with Parrot's Sequoia multispectral sensor, which is currently the smallest drone sensor. Today we will introduce the new product in detail and hope to help everyone.

The sensor was exhibited at the California World Agriculture Expo in February this year and will be officially released in March 2016. Sequoia is the world's smallest and lightest multispectral drone sensor. It can be used to capture visible and invisible spectra and RGB images. Only one drone flight is required. Agronomists and crop consultants and farmers can obtain all the data related to the health status of crops through drone aerial photography.

Jean-Christophe Zufferey, CEO and co-founder of senseFly, said that eBee agricultural drones will immediately enjoy the benefits of Sequoia. This will help eBee collect more data on crops that can be manipulated. Drone surveys will also cover more areas.

Multispectral and RGB

Sequoia includes four 12-megapixel sensors that can capture data for four spectral segments (near-infrared, red-edged, red, and green), and a 16-megapixel sensor that can be shot while flying Analyze the visible image. After one flight, data on hundreds of hectares of land will be collected.

After processing these data using the Pix4Dmapper software, farmers can learn how to cook their crops, such as how much water and how much chemical elements they need.

Accurate results

In order to make efficient business decisions, it is crucial to obtain accurate images regardless of lighting conditions. Sequoia's surface light sensor measures the current light conditions while automatically calibrating Sequoia's multispectral sensors to ensure high-resolution data. Sequoia is much cheaper than other multispectral UAV sensors on the market today, and it can provide agronomists around the world with high-resolution images for scientific research.

People will be able to purchase eBee agricultural drones equipped with Sequoia. Existing eBee drones can also be loaded with Sequoia directly in the future. Sequoia users who do not use the senseFly drone can use the senseFly drone to upgrade their front-end equipment to a certain degree.

Personalized data capture

The eBee agricultural drone's eMotion software allows users of Sequoia to adjust the sharpness of images to be captured according to their needs. It is also possible to select whether or not multi-spectral images need to be supplemented with RGB data to personalize the data.
