In June, heavy trucks decreased by 19%. First-half growth narrowed to single digits

The heavy-duty truck market in June continued to “slide” quickly on the descending channel.

The reporter recently learned that in June, the heavy truck market sold a total of 61,000 vehicles, a decrease of 19% from 75,000 units in the same period of last year and a 17% decrease from May (73921 units). Among these, other major manufacturers except Jianghuai have shown year-on-year declines, reflecting the increasingly severe situation the industry is currently facing.

Specifically, in June, Dongfeng, CNHTC and FAW maintained a monthly level of 10,000 cars, selling 13,000 heavy trucks, 10,000 vehicles and 10,000 vehicles respectively, which was a decrease of 30%, 4% and 16% year-on-year. Fukuda and Shaanxi Auto sold 8,700 vehicles and 7,700 vehicles respectively, down 20% and 28% year-on-year. In the third camp, JAC sold 3,800 heavy trucks, an increase of 19% year-on-year; 1,612 Hongyan vehicles sold, down 30% year-on-year; 1,521 Hualing Xingmao vehicles sold, down 34% year-on-year; and Beige sold 1,060 heavy trucks, down. The rate is the largest (-42%) among all mainstream heavy truck companies.

Judging from the development of heavy-duty truck industry in recent months, the cumulative growth rate of the market has continuously narrowed. The cumulative sales volume in the first quarter has increased by 20% year-on-year, narrowing to 16% from January to April, and up by 11.5% from January to May. In the first half of the year, the heavy truck industry sold a total of 462,200 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of only 6%. The reason is that the economic structure continues to adjust, and the proportion of investment in the national economy is declining. In particular, real estate investment is weak in the first half of this year. This is undoubtedly a bad news for heavy trucks with investment as the main driving force.

In the first half of this year, Dongfeng remained the industry leader that could not be shaken. In January-June, cumulative sales of heavy trucks totaled 85,500 units, a slight drop of 2% year-on-year; Heavy Truck sold 70,700 heavy trucks in January-March, up 12% year-on-year. The FAW Group had a total of 69,200 car sales, a year-on-year increase of 7%. Fourth place Foton and Fifth Shaanxi Automobile respectively sold a total of 63,600 vehicles and 59,000 vehicles, up 9% and 12% respectively year-on-year. In the third camp, the JAC heavy trucks recorded the fastest growth (32%), with a total of 23,200 vehicles sold; Red Rock sold a total of 15,300 vehicles, an increase of 4%; Hualing Xingma accumulated 11,800 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 11 %; Beiben continued to drop sharply. In the first half of this year, it sold 6,563 heavy trucks, a decrease of 40% from the same period of last year.
