"Steve Redick here, just witnessed quite the scene at 2600 W 35th Street. There were heavy smoke conditions reported in this massive, fire-resistant warehouse. Turns out, it wasn't the building itself that was on fire but rather a vehicle deep inside causing all the smoke. The Chicago Fire Department really pulled through with some impressive tactics. They deployed MVU 923 to pressurize the structure and clear out the lingering smoke—it worked like a charm. I managed to get some great photos and even a short video of the whole operation.
Here's a quick rundown of what I saw: firefighters working tirelessly, equipment scattered around the scene, and the unmistakable presence of those iconic red trucks. The smoke was thick enough to make visibility tough, but the crew handled it like professionals. You can see one of the videos below, showing the MVU in action.
I took a few snapshots too. Check out these images capturing everything from the intense smoke pouring out of the warehouse to the firefighters' tools and the impressive lineup of apparatus like Engine 65, Tower Ladder 5, and Truck 52. There’s also a Chicago FD Comm Van 2-7-4 parked nearby, ready for any communication needs.
The situation was under control quickly thanks to the coordinated efforts of everyone involved. It’s always fascinating to witness how they manage these kinds of incidents. Here’s hoping no one was hurt during this event.
Take a look at the photos and the video below. These moments remind me why I love documenting the hard work of our local firefighters."

Low Alloy Steel Welding Electrodes
LOW ALLOY STEEL Welding Electrode:
Low alloy steel electrode is a kind of electrode that requires good plasticity, high impact toughness, good low temperature performance and strong crack resistance.
Low alloy steel electrodes are divided into the following three categories:
1. Structural steel electrodes above 50 kg (except deposited metal Mn-Si series)
2. Molybdenum and lattice molybdenum pearlitic heat-resistant steel electrode
3. Low temperature steel welding rod
