Virtual Reality, Fabrication and other capabilities come to Autodesk’s AEC Collection at no additional cost

Tools that enhance Revit models for virtual reality, fabrication, computational design, and analysis support BIM processes from planning and design through preconstruction.

We’re thrilled to share some big updates with our Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Collection subscribers. Starting today, we’ve added several powerful tools to the AEC Collection, designed to help you stay ahead in the evolving world of BIM and Revit-based workflows—covering everything from early planning to preconstruction.

Before diving into the details, I want to take a moment to reflect on why these changes matter. A year ago, we launched the AEC Collection with the goal of providing a more streamlined and integrated way for you to access the software you need. Our vision was to not only empower your current projects but also prepare you for the future of building and design. With tools like Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and more, we aimed to give you the essential BIM capabilities needed for any project, no matter how big or small.

But as we've continued to engage with our customers, we've heard some key insights. The pace of technological change is accelerating, and many of you have shared that trying new software can be costly and time-consuming. More importantly, you've emphasized that features like visualization, analysis, and fabrication are no longer optional—they're essential for staying competitive in today's market.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that we’ve expanded the AEC Collection with additional tools that enhance its capabilities across the entire project lifecycle. And here’s the best part: there’s no price increase. This means you can now access even more powerful BIM workflows, whenever you need them, by simply subscribing to the AEC Collection.

What’s New?

Here’s a look at the exciting additions:

First up is Revit Live, which allows you to turn your Revit models into immersive visual experiences. You can explore your designs in virtual reality with just a couple of clicks—making it easier than ever to communicate your ideas and get stakeholder buy-in.

We’ve also added advanced analysis and computational design tools. Robot Structural Analysis Professional and Structural Bridge Design integrate seamlessly with Revit to help you perform detailed structural analysis. Plus, Dynamo Studio is now available as a standalone environment, enabling you to automate complex workflows and streamline your design process.

On the fabrication side, we’ve included Advance Steel and Fabrication CADmep, both of which work with Revit and Navisworks. These tools allow you to model, coordinate, and fabricate MEP and steel systems in a unified platform, improving efficiency and reducing errors.
