Yantai Raffles Shipyard Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary, recently completed and launched the world's first cylindrical oil storage and processing vessel for Norwegian company SEVAN MARINE AS. The project was successfully executed in Yantai, marking a significant milestone in offshore energy technology.
The vessel, valued at over $60 million and weighing 11,000 tons, was carefully moved onto a semi-submersible ship using five custom-designed slides, ensuring a smooth and safe launching process. Designed to operate in diverse marine environments, this advanced ship is built to withstand harsh conditions while maintaining high efficiency.
With a maximum diameter of 65.15 meters and a main body diameter of 60 meters, the vessel stands 45.8 meters tall, with a main hull height of 27 meters. Its empty draft measures 11.2 meters, and it can operate with a full draft of 18.2 meters. The ship is equipped with a helicopter landing platform, enhancing its operational flexibility.
Inside, the vessel features a refinery capable of processing 30,000 barrels of crude oil per day, a gas injection station that compresses 3.6 million cubic meters of gas daily, and a storage capacity of 300,000 barrels of crude oil. These capabilities make it a versatile and powerful asset for offshore oil operations.
According to recent reports, the second cylindrical oil storage and processing vessel is already under construction, signaling continued growth and innovation in the industry. This development highlights the increasing demand for advanced offshore solutions and reinforces Yantai Raffles' position as a leader in cutting-edge maritime engineering.
