In order to make the control, reduction and elimination of POPs systematic and normal, in the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†environmental protection plan in China, POPs pollution prevention and control has been regarded as one of the four important areas. The Ministry of Environmental Protection also initiated the preparation of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†related to POPs, namely the “12th Five-Year Plan†for prevention of POPs pollution in major industries and the 12th Five-Year Plan for Implementation of International Environmental Conventions, which will guide local governments. Completed the compilation of provincial POPs “Twelfth Five-year Plan†pollution prevention and control plan, and obtained provincial government approval.
