Example of Almalake Copper-Molybdenum Ore Selection Plant in Uzbekistan

1 Introduction
Alma Lake is located in the Uzbek Republic. It was put into operation in 1961. It was expanded from 1972 to 1975 and was converted into nine series. The existing mining and selection capacity is 50 kt/d, and the Karimmark ore is processed. It is currently one of the largest copper - molybdenum plants in the country.
2. Deposits, ores and mining
The Carimalk deposit is a porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit. The ore leaching particle size is extremely uneven, and the sulfide minerals are fine-grained. The mineral composition and copper grade of the primary sulfide ore are relatively uniform. Wherein the mineral is the most widely distributed in monomeric form and gangue minerals with the living body stored chalcopyrite, chalcocite and pyrite. In addition, the ore also contains a very fine disseminated molybdenum. In the mixed ore, copper sulfide is mainly chalcopyrite, and oxidized ore accounts for 25%. The phase analysis of copper in the ore is shown in Table 1.

The average grade of ore is 0.7% Cu, 0.01% Mo. The mine is open-pit mining with a maximum ore size of 1200mm.
3. Mineral processing technology
(1) Crushing: Three-stage open-cut crushing ore, with screening between every two crushing, product size -35mm.
(2) Grinding: -35mm powder ore is closed by 3.6×5.6m lattice ball mill and ¢3m spiral classifier with overflow fineness of 45%-200 mesh. Practical calculations show that for every 1% increase in the +80 mesh size of the flotation feed, the copper loss in the tailings increases by 0.3% to 0.35%. The copper-molybdenum rough-choice tailings are re-milled by a ¢3.6×5.0m overflow ball mill with a fineness of 65%~70%-200 mesh. The primary concentrate is reground by a 2.7×3.6m overflow ball mill with a fineness of 90. %~95%-200 mesh. The grinding-floating process is shown in the figure below.

Characteristics of the plant selection process: The steam is directly charged in different sorting operations, and molybdenum can be recovered from the mixed ore having high adsorption characteristics to sodium sulfide, and the consumption of the medicament is greatly reduced. With stage grinding and flotation, the mine is floated in a separate loop. According to Barhash experience, hydrocarbon oil is added to the ore part of the tailings after desliming and then floated to recover molybdenum. Using re-election equipment to recover gold from various sorting products, Almarek also plans to build a crushing-mineralizing complex to treat oxidized ore separately.

The ore grade is 0.7% Cu, 0.01% Mo, the copper concentrate contains 18%~20% copper, the copper recovery rate is 83%~85%; the molybdenum concentrate contains 35%~40% molybdenum, and the molybdenum recovery rate is 55%~60%; The total recovery rate of gold is 70%~78%; the power consumption is 6.5kW·h/t ore, water: 4.3m 3 /t ore, steel ball: 1.55kg/t ore.
