The Broadview Fire Department, part of MABAS Division 20, serves an area just under two square miles from a single fire station. Once, the station was filled with American LaFrance apparatus, but today only two remain. One is a 1982 Century Series pumper, and the other is a unique Grumman AerialCat tower ladder mounted on a low-profile American LaFrance chassis. These vintage units stand as a testament to the department's rich history.
Dennis McGuire, Jr. recently shared some great photos that give a nice update on the department’s current fleet. The images include two ambulances, two engines, the iconic tower ladder, a utility pickup, and even an X-military AM General Humvee—showcasing the variety of equipment they use.
One photo captures the fire station located at 2400 S. 25th Avenue, offering a glimpse into the heart of the department. Another image highlights the Grumman AerialCat in action, while others focus on the modern apparatus that now supports daily operations. These photos not only document the department’s past but also reflect its ongoing commitment to public safety.
With a mix of classic and modern vehicles, the Broadview Fire Department continues to serve its community with dedication and professionalism. Whether responding to emergencies or participating in local events, the team remains a vital part of the neighborhood.
