Different Types of Bearing Housings

1) Pillow Blocks – such as UCP, HCP, UCLP, UKP, UCPX, and UKPX. These are used when support for a rotating shaft axis is needed. Their design allows them to support the shaft in operations where the mounting surface is parallel to the shaft axis.

2) Flange Type – includes UCF, HCF, UKF, UCFX, UKFX, UCFU, UCFC, UKFC, UCFS, UCFL, UKFL, and UCFT. These types come in various shapes like square, round, and rhombus flanges.

3) Take-up Units – such as UCT, HCT, and UKT. These have a concave spherical inner surface, so the bearing has a convex spherical outer surface. They allow moderate initial misalignment and are commonly used in conveyor chains and belts. A sliding slot on the side of the housing enables free movement of the unit.

4) Cartridge Type – including UCC, HCC, and UKC. This type features a cylindrical outer perimeter, so the bearing’s outer bore is spherical. The entire unit allows axial movement and is self-aligning. It can be used as a free-side bearing for long shafts, accommodating expansion or contraction due to temperature changes. Ideal for applications requiring axial adjustment.

5) Light Duty Types – such as SAFD, SBFD, SAFW, SBFW, SALF, and SBLF.
