Fluorine Chemical's First Carbon Reduction Project Launched

The first domestic 500 tons/year HFC-23 decomposition project, a joint initiative between Zhejiang Juhua Co., Ltd. and Japan, recently completed its production handover ceremony, marking the official transfer of daily operations and management to Juhua. As of September 7, the facility has successfully decomposed 12 tons of trifluoromethane and is now fully operational. This milestone represents a significant step forward in China's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through clean development mechanisms. Juhua is the first fluorine chemical company in China to officially implement a CO2 emission trading program. The project was launched on March 10 this year and achieved a successful commissioning test on August 1. From August 10 to November 11, it passed the initial verification by the United Nations, confirming that it meets the international standards of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and is ready to generate certified emission reductions. In the chemical industry, the CDM primarily focuses on reducing trifluoromethane (HFC-23), a potent greenhouse gas with a global warming potential 11,700 times that of carbon dioxide. HFC-23 is a by-product of HCFC-22 refrigerant production. Juhua currently operates three sets of HFC-22 production facilities, and with Japanese collaboration, one of them is equipped with advanced technology to decompose HFC-23 into carbon dioxide, hydrogen fluoride, and hydrochloric acid, significantly cutting down greenhouse gas emissions. According to available data, the annual HFC-23 decomposition project is expected to generate approximately 5.62 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emission reductions. Over seven years, starting from 2007, Japan will receive 40 million tons of emission credits. During the project’s operation, Juhua is projected to earn nearly 50 million yuan annually from carbon dioxide reduction benefits. Additionally, the company is already planning its second CDM project, further demonstrating its commitment to sustainable development and environmental responsibility.

CNC Press Brake

A CNC press brake is a machine used in metalworking to bend and shape sheet metal. It is controlled by a computer numerical control (CNC) system, which allows for precise and repeatable bending operations. The press brake consists of a flat surface called a bed, a movable beam, and a set of dies that are used to shape the metal. The CNC system controls the movement of the beam and the positioning of the dies, allowing for precise bending angles and depths. CNC press brakes are widely used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and construction for the production of metal components and structures.
