China's manufacturing profits increased by 6.5% in 2014

From the data point of view, the industrial added value of the above-scale industries in 2014 increased by 8.3% year-on-year, of which the manufacturing industry increased by 9.4% year-on-year. From the perspective of efficiency, industrial enterprises above designated size achieved profits of 6.47 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.3%, of which profits from manufacturing rose by 6.5%. In 2014, the total telecommunications business reached 1.8 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%. In 2014, the total consumption of information reached 2.8 trillion yuan, an increase of 18%.

In industries such as iron and steel, electrolytic aluminum, cement, and flat glass that need to be adjusted and compressed, the growth rate of investment and production has significantly declined, and the momentum of blind expansion has been initially contained. In 2001, 31.1 million tons of obsolete steel were eliminated, 81 million tons of cement was eliminated, and 37.6 million weight boxes of flat glass were eliminated.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has reported to the State Council that it intends to cancel and decentralize 29 items of administrative examination and approval, accounting for 51.8% of the original examination and approval items. In terms of deepening telecommunication reform, 42 private enterprises have been approved to carry out mobile communication resale business. The opening pilot of broadband access network business is about to start, and telecommunications service charges are fully implemented with market adjustment prices. In the implementation of the "Broadband China" special campaign, the proportion of broadband nationwide towns and administrative villages reached 100% and 93.5%.

In addition to this, Mao Weiming said that the “four new” economy (new technologies, new products, new formats, and new business models) has become a bright spot for industrial development. The integration of Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data and manufacturing has been widely carried out. A number of industrial cloud service platforms and industrial alliances have been established and operated. The typical integrated application of enterprises, industries, and regions has continued to emerge.

In 2014, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also launched special operations to crack down on the management of mobile Internet malicious programs, spam message management, and crackdowns on pseudo-base stations. Mao Weiming introduced that in 2015 the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will take the initiative to adapt to the new normal of economic development, maintain the industrial economy in a reasonable range, pay more attention to strengthening the management of the Internet industry, and promote the sustainable and healthy development of the industrial communications industry.
