Bomin provides LNG for Germany's first dual fuel ferry

       Hamburg's marine fuel supplier, Bomin Linde LNG, has undertaken LNG for the first dual-fuel passenger/freight ferry in Germany, which will be operational in May next year.
On December 8, the hull of the 83-meter-long, 13-meter-wide dual-fuel passenger/freight ferry has been prepared for transport at Fassmer Werft, a shipowner of Cassen Eils, a subsidiary of AG Ems, Germany. Construction of the Hullkon shipyard in Poland.
       It is reported that the ship will operate between Cuxhaven and Helgoland, with a draught of 3.6 meters. Its dual fuel propulsion system mainly burns LNG, using two 9-cylinder Wärtsilä W20DF medium-speed engines with a power of 5000k. The maximum speed is 20 knots. The boat can accommodate 1,180 people and can transport 10 10-foot containers and a crane with a lifting capacity of 10 tons.
        The LNG fuel filling system to be used by the vessel has been certified by the classification society and the flag State Germany.
