The particle size composition and geometric size of the bubble group in the slurry reflect the degree of dispersion of the air, which determines the total surface area of ​​the liquid-gas that the bubble can provide and the rate at which the bubble rises and falls in the slurry.

Under the condition of a certain amount of aeration, the worse the dispersion of air in the slurry, the less the total area of ​​the liquid-gas separation interface can be provided, the larger the geometrical size of the bubble, the faster the lifting speed, which is not conducive to The mineralization process of bubbles, on the contrary, the higher the dispersion of air in the slurry, and the more uniform the distribution, the larger the total area of ​​the liquid-gas separation interface that can be provided, and the more collision, contact and adhesion rate of bubbles and ore particles Large, these are beneficial to the mineralization process of bubbles. However, the bubble should not be too small, otherwise it will not be able to carry the mineral particles to rise or float or the speed of the rise and fall is extremely slow.

The main factors affecting the dispersion of air in the slurry are

1) The influence of the structure type of the flotation machine. Experimental studies have shown that in the case of the normal amount of foaming agent, the diameter of the bubble generated by the mechanical agitating flotation machine is mostly between 0.05 and 1.5 mm, of which about 80% of the total gas-liquid total area is bubbles. The dimensions are in the range of 0.4-1.0 mm, as shown in Figure 9-4. Inflatable flotation machines vary in the size of the bubble generators and the size of the bubbles, and the size of the bubbles produced by them is not the same. The measurement shows that the upper limit of the bubble can reach 2.5-4mm, and the average diameter is about 2mm. Some flotation machines with a swirling or jet aerator and a vacuum flotation machine have a high degree of dispersion of bubbles in the slurry. From 0.5mm to droplets of small bubbles, such as vacuum flotation machines, the newly produced bubbles have an average diameter of about 0.1-0.5mm, and the electrolytic bubble method produces smaller bubbles with an average diameter of about 0.02-0.06. 2) The effect of the foaming agent.

The addition of a blowing agent can significantly improve the dispersion of the bubbles. For example, the upper limit of the diameter of the bubble generated by aeration in pure water can be up to 5 mm, and is reduced to about 0.4 mm after the addition of 20 mg of pine oil. It can be seen that one of the main functions of the foaming agent is to significantly reduce the diameter of bubbles generated in the slurry, and the bubble size in the machine is reduced within a certain concentration range as the concentration of the foaming agent increases. .

3) Influence of stirring strength and slurry concentration

The uniform distribution of float and in the tank can simultaneously increase the aeration of the flotation machine and increase the dispersion of air in the slurry and the uniformity of distribution in the flotation tank.

Tests have shown that the pulp concentration also has a certain effect on the degree of air dispersion. The results are shown in Table 9-3. It can be seen from Table 9-3 that the concentration of the slurry is too large or too small, and the degree of dispersion of the air is poor.
