At present, a series of standards have been issued for the measurement of piezoelectric materials in the world, but there is no uniform method and standard for the calibration of the piezoelectric constant measurement system itself, resulting in the results obtained by piezoelectric constant measurement instruments produced by various manufacturers based on different principles. The poor comparability has also affected the quality evaluation of piezoelectric materials in the import and export trade. In China, due to the lack of measurement and traceability of piezoelectric materials, the quality control of imported piezoelectric materials is insufficient, and the technical support for export is scarce. Usually only a few tenths of the price of imported parts is used for piezoelectric ceramics. One is that the accuracy of various parameters provided on the "identity card" of piezoelectric materials in our country is not high. According to statistics, in 2010, the global trade volume of piezoelectric crystal elements exceeded 10 billion yuan, of which China accounted for 50% of the trade volume, but the amount was only 20%. Standard transducers made of high-end piezoelectric ceramics and piezoelectric films, such as standard hydrophones and standard acceleration sensors, are almost exclusively monopolized by foreign manufacturers.

In order to change the above situation, after three years of hard work, China Measurement Institute and Shanghai Institute of Metrology and Measurement Technology systematically studied the method of measuring the piezoelectric constant of piezoelectric materials, and established dynamic resonance method, quasi-static method, laser interference method and gas. Cavity pressure standard device, the measurement uncertainty up to 2% (k = 2), and the establishment of a reference material based piezoelectric material characteristic parameter measurement standards and piezoelectric material measurement value transfer system to solve the piezoelectric sensor, The control of material parameters at the front end of transducers and actuators can support the development of smart materials, effectively supporting the quality control of imported piezoelectric wafers, piezoelectric films, and export services for piezoelectric materials in China.
