Geological hazard remote sensing monitoring and emergency key technologies and application projects have been accepted

[China Instrument Network Instrument R&D] Recently, the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" 863 Program "Typical Geological Disaster Remote Sensing Monitoring and Emergency Response Key Technology and Application" project passed the acceptance in Beijing.

The project is oriented to the national needs for disaster relief and disaster reduction, and breaks through key technologies such as heterogeneous space-sky observation network system planning and rapid processing of multi-source remote sensing images, dynamic landslide disaster geological map representation, and high score multi-source multi-dimensional disaster target extraction and damage assessment. The objectives of rapid mission planning, high-efficiency data processing, remote sensing monitoring and early warning, fine disaster assessment, and rapid development of disaster relief plans for typical geological disasters have enhanced our ability to respond to geological disasters in China.
The project achievements have played an important role in the monitoring and early warning and disaster assessment of typical geological disasters such as the Ludian earthquake and the Three-Line Reservoir area, and have been applied to practical business systems. Through business practice and multiple disaster emergency response inspections, the accuracy and timeliness of disaster monitoring and evaluation have been improved, which has effectively supported the scientific decision-making of disaster emergency response. Experts fully affirmed the results of the project and put forward suggestions for the further refinement and application of the results.
With the continuous development of remote sensing imaging technology, the spatial resolution and time resolution have been continuously improved, especially with the gradual implementation of the National Civil Space Infrastructure Long-Term Development Plan (2015-2025), and remote sensing satellites such as environmental disaster reduction. As the number increases further, remote sensing technology will provide more important support services for disaster relief and disaster reduction.
