Excerpts from ABC7Chicago.com:

A young boy and an adult were rescued from a two-alarm fire that broke out in their home in west suburban Oak Park on May 7, 2015. Village President Anan Abu-Taleb stated that both are currently hospitalized in critical condition. The boy's 12 or 13-year-old sister was also present during the fire and is recovering at the hospital.

Neighbors reported hearing a loud explosion before flames appeared overnight. When firefighters arrived around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, the back of the apartment building was fully engulfed. The fire quickly spread to the neighboring structure, causing the roofs of both buildings to collapse. Officials believe both homes are likely a total loss.
